The first thing a lot of people do is go to Clickbank and other affiliate networks to see which products are displayed as best sellers and then immediately jump on them. However, just because a product is featured as a hot seller that doesn't necessarily mean that it is a hot product.
When you are using affiliate networks such as Clickbank there are five variables that you should consider prior to selecting a product to market. These include:
1. Dollar per sale, which is the net amount earned by each affiliate for each referred sale.
2. Total dollars per sale, which is the total of all sales and re-billings divided by the number of sales.
3. Commission per sale, which is the average percentage of commission earned by each affiliate for each referred sale.
4. Referred percentage, which is the percentage of the publisher's total sales that are referred by affiliates.
5. Gravity, which is the number of individual affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher's products
All of these factors play a huge role in determining the suitability of potential products you wish to market, and you must take them all into account. Choose products that are reliable and historically show that a high percentage of traffic that was referred
resulted in creating a sale. Products like these have a high marketplace ranking and will prove to be very profitable.
In addition, always spend time to perfect and master your marketing skills, diversify and continuously expand your marketing portfolio. The more the merrier, don't settle for just marketing one single product. Your opportunity for generating substantial amounts of income is increased tremendously when you marketing efforts are geared towards multiple products.
